Model 02 Solid Oak Platform Bed
The Model 02 Solid Oak Platform Bed is designed for simplicity, style and space efficiency. Crafted from solid oak, its clean, headboard-free design brings natural warmth and timeless appeal to any bedroom. Ideal for smaller bedrooms, lofts and contemporary interiors, this minimalist oak bed frame can also be paired with a separate wall-mounted headboard for a more personalised look.
The open space beneath the bed provides approximately 25cm of clearance, making it easy to use under-bed storage such as drawers or boxes while keeping your bedroom organised and clutter-free. It's a practical choice for anyone looking to maximise floor space without compromising on quality or style.
Each Model 02 solid oak bed is handmade to order in the UK using sustainably sourced solid oak. Our skilled craftsmen combine traditional woodworking techniques with modern precision, using precision-machined mortise and tenon joints to create a sturdy, durable frame. Designed for straightforward assembly, every bed comes with clear, step-by-step instructions, and most customers can put their bed together in under an hour.
The solid oak frame is paired with strong, supportive pine slats, providing a dependable base for your mattress. Using pine for the slatted base allows us to reserve the natural beauty and character of solid oak for the main structure of the bed, ensuring each material serves a practical purpose.
Available in a selection of hand-applied finishes, including natural oak and lacquered shades, our solid oak platform bed can be tailored to complement a variety of bedroom styles. An unfinished option is also available for those who prefer to personalise the timber themselves. The oak's distinctive grain and natural character make it a beautiful foundation for everything from understated neutral interiors to bold feature walls.
Looking for a more affordable alternative? The Model 02 is also available in beautiful, solid Scandinavian pine. Offering the same minimalist design and expert craftsmanship at a lower price point, it's a lovely alternative if you prefer the lighter look of pine. Discover our solid Scandinavian pine bed here.
Each solid oak bed is carefully crafted to order and finished by hand. Our finishes are designed to enhance the natural grain and rich character of the oak while providing lasting protection. The result is a beautifully finished, durable solid oak bed that brings warmth, quality and timeless appeal to your bedroom.

What to consider when buying a wooden bed frame
Choose your timber and finsish
Every one of our wooden beds is handcrafted from your choice of sustainably sourced Scandinavian Pine or Solid European Oak. While both timbers are built using the same traditional joinery techniques and made to the same exacting standards, each offers its own unique appearance and character.
Scandinavian Pine provides a lighter, more relaxed aesthetic with subtle natural grain, making it an excellent choice for bright, contemporary interiors.
Solid European Oak offers a richer grain pattern and the premium feel of a hardwood, making it ideal for those looking for exceptional durability and timeless character.
Once you’ve chosen your timber, you can personalise your bed with our range of hand-applied finishes.
Premium Rubio Monocoat Finishes
We understand that selecting the perfect bed and ensuring it complements your décor is an important decision.
That’s why we offer a range of premium Rubio Monocoat finishes, available for oak bed frames at an additional cost.
Enhance your solid oak bed with stunning finishes such as Pure, Natural, Chocolate, and Walnut. The Natural finish, for example, offers a look that’s as close to raw wood as possible, while still delivering the strength and durability Rubio Monocoat is known for.
LEG STYLE
We have 3 distinct leg style options, allowing you to personalise your bed. The leg options available may vary depending on model choosen. Whether you prefer sleek, modern lines or a more classic, timeless design, our selection of leg styles provides the flexibility to create a bed that truly reflects your personal taste.
SLAT POSITION
We offer two slat position options: either level with the frame or recessed 50mm within it. This customization feature allows you to ensure your bed is tailored perfectly to your preference!
