From a Single oak bed for a more compact room to an Emperor bed with considerably more sleeping space, our solid oak bed frames are available across six standard UK mattress sizes:

• Single – 90 x 190cm (3’0” x 6’3”)
• Small double – 120 x 190cm (4’0” x 6’3”)
• Double – 135 x 190cm (4’6” x 6’3”)
• King – 150 x 200cm (5’0” x 6’6”)
• Super King – 180 x 200cm (6’0” x 6’6”)
• Emperor – 215 x 215cm (7’0” x 7’0”)

These measurements refer to the mattress rather than the complete frame, so remember to check the external dimensions of your chosen oak bed when measuring the bedroom.

Choosing the Finish for Your Oak Bed

European oak has plenty of character in its natural state, but the finish you choose can change how that timber works with the rest of your bedroom.

Our standard options include unfinished, white, light, medium, walnut and black. Lighter options keep the natural colour and grain of the oak more prominent, while deeper finishes can give the same bed design a very different character.

Premium Rubio Monocoat finishes are also available for oak at an additional cost, with options including Pure, Natural, Chocolate and Walnut. £1 colour samples make it easier to compare your preferred finishes against flooring, furniture and other materials already in the room.

Oak or Pine Bed Frame?

Oak and pine can both make excellent solid wooden beds, so the choice doesn't need to come down to which timber is simply "better".

European oak is denser, heavier and typically more expensive, with pronounced grain and natural variation. Scandinavian pine is softer and lighter, with a more accessible price point and plenty of flexibility when it comes to different finishes.
