Enjoy Comfort and Convenience With Our Low Solid Wooden Beds

Beds come in all shapes and sizes, but comfort is non-negotiable. With our low bed frame designs, you can be assured of a restful night’s sleep and hassle-free access.

Low beds are designed with a bed frame and/or mattress that sits closer to the floor when compared to standard height beds. With their reduced height, low wooden beds offer a more contemporary and minimalistic design.

We only work with sensible suppliers, ensuring each of our bed frames is built with sustainability in mind. Benefits of Low Beds

There are many reasons to love a low bed. Some of the main advantages of them include:

Sleek and Modern Appeal: A wooden low bed is a popular choice amongst those of us seeking a modern aesthetic. Each low modern bed in our collection matches a variety of contemporary décors, particularly those with a minimalist feel.

The Illusion of Space: Low beds take up less vertical space, helping rooms, such as lofts, appear more spacious.

Convenient access: Positioned as low as 20cm (0 ft 8 in) from the floor, low beds make getting in and out of bed more effortless. Ours are designed to help those with limited mobility settle into bed without strain. For children, a low bed frame means safe, easy access, encouraging confidence and independence.

Low Bed Sizes

We have a total of six sizes to choose from for each low bed design. From low single beds to king-size low bed frames, we offer the ideal sizes for every lifestyle and space

  • Single – 90 x 190cm (3’0” x 6’3”)
  • Small double – 120 x 190cm (4’0” x 6’3”)
  • Double – 135 x 190cm (4’6” x 6’3”)
  • King – 150 x 200cm (5’0” x 6’6”)
  • Super King – 180 x 200cm (6’0” x 6’6”)
  • Emperor – 215 x 215cm (7’0” x 7’0”)

Low Bed Styles

There are four common low beds, each catering to the unique needs and preferences of individuals.

Platform Beds: These boast a simple design and a low profile, typically sitting directly on a solid platform or sometimes a set of slats.

Japanese-style Beds: Traditional Japanese beds, such as futons beds or tatami beds, are known for their low height. This is the ultimate low bed for lofts, usually consisting of a mattress or futon placed on the ground or low wooden frame.

Low Canopy Beds: Low canopy beds offer a stylish twist on the traditional low bed design, typically standing lower to the floor to create a relaxing, cosy sleeping area.

Low Wooden Bed Finishes

To truly make your low wooden bed your own, you can choose from our six different finishes, ranging from bright, airy appearances to dark, bold colours.

Unfinished Wooden Beds: If you like the look of natural oak or pine, we can supply your bed in its raw material, with no lacquer.

White Wooden Beds: Is natural too dark? If so, our clear white stain adds a vibrant, matte finish to your bed frame - a great choice for contemporary rooms.

Light Wooden Beds: To protect the bed frame’s grain and patterns, we can apply a clear, water-based lacquer that showcases the natural finish, while adding protection.

Medium Wooden Beds: Our medium stain enhances the appearance of your wooden frame, adding a touch of warmth to your room.

Walnut Wooden Beds: As the second darkest finish we offer, a walnut frame oozes class and character, no matter the frame.

Black Wooden Beds: For a bold look, nothing beats a black stain. We use our darkest stain available to create a striking bed frame that makes a statement.

FAQ's

How Low is a Low Bed?

All of our bed frame heights are measured by the footboard and headboard. Given that some beds can be bought without a headboard, we stick to the footboard measurement for height. Low beds will have a footboard height of 20 cm, with slats that are either level with the frame or recessed.

What Materials Are Your Low Beds Made From?

Our low beds are made from the highest quality solid pine and solid oak. There’s no veneers or chipboard in sight.

What Sizes Do Low Beds Come In?

Low beds come in a variety of sizes that are suitable for smaller bedrooms. The smallest size we sell is the standard single. However, we also offer much larger sizes, such as a super king or even an emperor.

Is A Low Bed Better Than A High Bed?

A low bed is not necessarily better than a high bed. Which one is best for you depends on a variety of factors, including personal needs and bedroom structures. Low beds are more beneficial for people with limited mobility, but may look out of place in larger spaces, for example.

Are Low Beds Safe For Children?

Low beds are a safe choice for children as their lower height reduces the risk of injury from falls. Lower bed frames are also designed to help children get in and out of bed more independently, improving their confidence.
